Bus is a convenient, ecological and cost effective way to reach Patras. The city is connected to other Greek cities with a wide wariety of bus routes. The Greek bus companies are called KTEL. The central KTEL bus station of Patras is located in Othonos Amalias & Zaimi Str. The “KTEL Achaias” provide daily routes to Athens, Thessaloniki, Ioannina and other Greek cities.
Athens – Patras by bus
If you want to reach Patras by bus from Athens you can get one of the daily services of KTEL Achaias. The average route frequency is one bus every half an hour and the trip lasts about two and half hours. Express routes do not make any stops in middle stations. Buses from Athens depart from Kifisos Athens Central bus Station.
From Athens International Airport ”Eleftherios Venizelos” to Patras
If you want to reach Patras from Athens International Airport you can get the bus E93 from Athens Airport in order to reach “Kifisos” Athens Central bus station. This bus departs outside the arrivals terminal (gates 4-5). From Athens you can get the bus to Patras as described above.

Patras – Italy routes

The new port of Patras has began operating Patras – Italy routes with some of the arrivals also to disembark in the old port of Patras. However all departures to Italy take place in the new port. Patras port is connected with the Italian ports of Ancona, Bari, Brindisi, and Venice.

Kefallonia – Ithaca lines

Kefallonia and Ithaca islands are connected to Patras with daily routes (one or two times per day). Embarkation and disembarkation take place in the old port of Patras.
